The next instalment in the Porsche 911 GT series will officially debut on February 16, 2021, the automaker has announced. No specifics were disclosed, but the track weapon in question must be the new GT3.
If so, the newcomer will likely share the four-cylinder turbo with the Speedster and GT3 Cup models. The mill produces 510 PS (503 hp / 375 kW) and 470 Nm (347 lb-ft) of torque, which is 10 hp (7.5 kW) and 10 Nm (7.4 lb-ft) of torque more than the old generation had. Transmission choices should include manual and PDK. Judging by the teaser pic, the car will also sport chrome window bezels and a rear wing on swan-neck supports.
The new 911 will not be the last in the 992 production queue by far. A retro-styled coupe with a ducktail spoiler and an off-road-capable 911 Safari have both been recently sighted during their pre-production tests. It looks like Porsche may want to make their own rally-capable 911 model after seeing the numerous tuned examples out there.
