Porsche has officially unveiled the next generation of its track-focused 911 GT3 supercar. Sales in Germany will start this spring from €167,518, and the United States will follow in the fall.
The four-liter naturally aspirated flat-six engine gains another 10 horsepower and torque points, bringing the total to 510 PS (503 hp / 375 kW) and 470 Nm (347 lb-ft). Perhaps more importantly, it can now rev up to 9,000 RPM. Purists may still opt for the six-speed manual, but seven-speed PDK is now standard, allowing a sprint from zero to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 3.4 seconds. The top speed amounts to 318 km/h (197.6 miles per hour).
The new 911 GT3 needs 6 minutes and 59.927 seconds for a Nürburgring run, something that took its predecessor 7 minutes and 12.7 seconds.
Ergonomic sports seats are included in all specs, but you can pay extra for deep carbon-fiber buckets, an aero kit with a giant rear wing and an adjustable front spoiler, adaptive shocks, a diff lock, and 4WS.
Track day enthusiasts will know to appreciate the Clubsport package, which adds six-point harnesses, a sturdy roll cage, a disconnect switch, and a fire extinguishing system.
