Porsche 911 GT3 RS spied, allegedly with a 4.0L flat-six

After revealing the 911 GT3 early this year – watch the video if you missed it – Porsche has been preparing for debuting the extreme RS version, which has recently been spotted on a road.

Judging by the photos, the 911 GT3 RS follows in the footsteps of the regular GT3, sharing its front bumper design. However, the hood cover is different, as are the front fender intakes. The rear wing is downright massive, and there is a third brake light.

The RS is expected to ship with a modified 4.0-liter naturally aspirated flat-six engine of the GT3. The latter uses it for 503 PS (496 hp / 370 kW) and 470 Nm (347 lb-ft) of torque, which enables it to sprint from standstill to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 3.4 seconds.

The RS is obviously going to pack more power than that, but specifics remain to be announced. Different sources voice different expectations in the range between 532 and 572 PS (525 – 564 hp; 391 – 421 kW).
