The German sports car maker decided to participate in the New York Fashion Week and prepared a special Porsche 911 SC restomod for the occasion. Aimé Leon Dore took part in the project.
The fashion house adorned the retro ride with equally antiquated interior décor, painted its body a duller shade of yellow, and put massive black-spoked wheels inside the arches. A metal roof rack and hood-mounted headlamps rounded things off on the outside.
Inside, the main novelty comes in the form of a patterned carpet that covers the entire floor and door cards. The driver’s seat received a massaging cover made of threaded wooden balls.
The original Porsche 911 SC had been in production for five years until 1983. According to Aimé Leon Dore Creative Director Teddy Santis, the project came out ‘nostalgic and very personal’, partly because the designer drew inspiration from the memories of his own childhood.
