An auction will be held in Orlando late this month for a rare Porsche 911 Turbo Slantnose. The production quantity of such cars was rather large – watch the video for a brief overview of the model – but this specific example boasts a rare trim/powertrain combo.
According to the seller, the coupe was built 34 years ago and customized according to the Porsche's Special Wishes program. Aside from the Flachbau (Slantnose) package, it received a vivid red exterior finish, bi-color/multi-spoke BBS rims, and a champagne-colored interior. Leather covers everything in sight, including even the front panel and the dash visor. There are occasional wood inserts throughout, special indicators on the console, and extra glove compartments below the dashboard.
The 3.3-liter flat-six received an in-house tune to deliver 300 PS (296 hp /221 kW) instead of the U.S.-standard 282 PS (278 hp / 207 kW). The torque went up to 377 Nm (278 lb-ft) of torque.
With around 74,000 km (45,600 miles) on the odo, the condition of the car is described as “excellent”. It even boasts a manufacturer’s certificate of authenticity, as well as multiple show awards.
The bidding will proceed at no reserve. A somewhat similar Slantnose (X83 model made for Japan) cropped up on sale a month ago and attracted a highest bid of $430,000, but the seller decided to hold on to it.
