Singer is a tuner renowned for its exorbitantly expensive, yet masterful restorations of Porsche classics, and its DLS series (Dynamic and Lightweight Study) sets the bar higher than ever with its professional motorsports appeal. Top Gear got their hands on one such car this weekend.
Compared to the regular 911, the Singer’s rendition boasts an all-carbon body, completely redesigned suspension and braking, and a stripped cabin. The company says it received assistance from plenty of other aftermarket experts, including such well-reputed brands as BBS, Brembo, Williams Advanced Engineering, and many others.
Power is provided by a four-liter non-turbo flat-six engine with four valves per cylinder. The legendary mill was tuned to perfection by the late Hans Mezger himself, and the SVD version of it can rev up to 9,300 RPM and output up to 506 PS (500 hp / 373 kW).
The company will produce a total of 75 such vehicles.
