Rare Porsche 911 owned by Brunei Sultan and F1 champion goes on sale for £0.2M+

This X88 Porsche 911 Turbo was pieced together for the Sultan of Brunei 27 years ago and given a unique, no-second-one-in-the-world finish named Horizon Blue.

Jenson Button, the Champion of the Formula One tournament of 2009, sells the car at an auction in the UK set to close on September 2. The car comes with an in-house upgrade package called X88, which Porsche offered for 3.6-liter 911 Turbo models produced in 1993 and 1994. The production run was limited to fewer than 1,500 units back in the time, only around 50 of which were given the upgrade.

The kit included new 18-inch wheels, a different exhaust system, and a power boost from 360 PS (355 hp / 265 kW) to 385 PS (380 hp / 283 kW). This particular example was additionally given its Horizon Blue exterior treatment and a dark-blue leather interior. The seller claims that the paintjob is completely original and that the cabin shows only moderate signs of wear.

The car was imported into Great Britain in the spring of 2003. It currently has 19,283 miles, or 31,033 kilometers, on the odometer.

The bidding has reached £210,500 so far.
