Mecum Auction continues announcing its exotic and tuned car lineup for the January sale. One of the more interesting specimens is this Porsche 911 (964) Turbo driven by Will Smith in the 1995 action comedy ‘Bad Guys’.
The sports car rolled off the assembly line 27 years ago and was among fewer than 350 units to have been imported into the USA. Each one came equipped with a 3.6-liter flat-six engine good for 360 PS (355 hp / 265 kW) and 520 Nm (384 lb-ft) of torque, which a 5-speed manual box passed through to the wheels.
This specific coupe was initially registered to director Michael Bay, who then sold it to producer Pat Sandstone. It went on to change owners a few more times and sat in a private collection for several years. Despite having 55,355 kilometers (around 34,400 miles) on the odo, it appears to be pristine both inside and outside.
The trim level is quite high with such highlights as an AC, a radio, a tape player, a sunroof, a rear wing, black leather upholstery, and Speedline five-spoke alloys. The latest complete overhaul was in 2006.
Experts believe that the celebrity-rich background of the car might make it the most expensive 964-gen Porsche 911 Turbo in history. For example, Jenson Button brought home $439,000 from selling a very similar vehicle just two months ago.
