Drag Race: Entry-level 911 Carrera vs. BMW M3 Competition

In its latest video, CarWOW collides a BMW M3 Competition with a similarly priced, lighter, yet less powerful Porsche 911 Carrera. Which one do you think will win?

The M3 Competition is quite a beast for its vehicle class, rocking a 3.0-liter inline-six under the hood with dual turbos driving it to 517 PS (510 hp / 380 kW) and 650 Nm (479 lb-ft) of torque. An eight-speed automatic transmission links to the rear axle. At around 1,730 kg (3,814 lbs), however, the car is not exactly light.

The Porsche flat-six only makes 390 PS (385 hp / 287 kW) and 450 Nm (332 lb-ft) of torque, which a PDK dual-clutch transmission delivers to the rear wheels. It is lighter at 1,505 kg (3,318 lbs) and a purebred sports car, at that. Then again, the BMW M is not far behind.

Which one would you bet on?
