Porsche 911 (992) facelift shows up on unofficial shots

We are getting close to a mid-life refresh of the gen.992 Porsche 911. The first spy photos were made in December, and another batch arrives now.

It is quite obvious that the model being tested is not a Turbo. There are no signs of fender or spoiler air vents, and the dual tailpipes sit slightly apart. The 911 Carrera and 911 Turbo both have pipes closer to the sides, while the 911 GT3 has them grouped together.

This leads to a question: what engine could this 911 be running on? All newer models use flat-six twin-turbo units, except for the range-topping GT3 that stands out on its won with a naturally aspirated eight-cylinder.

Is the test vehicle shown here also powered by a four-liter V8? We probably won’t know until the official reveal.
