Singer builds a 450-HP restomod

U.S.-based Porsche restorer Singer Vehicle Design has unveiled the first entry in its new line of vehicles called Turbo Study. The lineup will consist exclusively of custom-made luxury restomods.

The first Custom Study is a Porsche 911 (964) that was in production from 1989 until 1993. Its carbon-fiber bodywork combines a number of Singer’s trademark touches (lensed headlights, large Fuchs wheels and a low front apron) with styling cues found on the 911 (930) Turbo. The latter can be found in both bumpers, the taillights and the whale-tail rear wing. There are also air intakes where the 911 Turbo usually has rear fender stickers.

The 3.8-liter flat-six twin-turbo makes use of an electronic blow-off valve and makes 450 hp (456 hp / 336 kW) by default. A six-speed manual transmission carries the torque to the rear, but customers can opt for AWD.

The first vehicle will be finished in pale blue and tuned for long journeys. Tweaks will be made in the suspension, the exhaust system and the brakes, which can be made carbon-ceramic upon request.

A look inside reveals light-hued leather with natural wood trim accents. Comfortable Recaro seats with heating and power adjustments help stave off fatigue, and the steering wheel and dashboard are new. The same applies to the center console with a wireless charging pad in front of a transmission knob. Rounding off the project are mesh patches on the upper dash panel and at both sides of the console, hinting at a high-end audio system integrated into the cabin.
