Porsche 911 SC Targa patrol car sells for €53k in the Netherlands

For many drivers, seeing a police car approaching fast in a rearview mirror can be a nerve-wracking experience, but this Porsche 911 of Dutch origins may actually warrant a smile instead – it’s just that good-looking.

The 1980MY vehicle belongs to the Super Carrera/SC series and comes with a Targa top. Its naturally aspirated engine churns out 188 PS (185 hp / 138 kW), which a five-speed manual transmission conveys to the rear wheels.

This specific car underwent a comprehensive restoration not long ago, and comes finished in Grand Prix White with fashionable orange accents and a number 86 on the hood. The Netherlands police had it equipped with a warning beacon, a siren, modern DRLs and a megaphone, and left the rear end without a spoiler of any kind. The engine was swapped for an identical model, and the gearbox was serviced in a Porsche center.

If you would like to add this Porsche 911 SC Targa to your garage, hurry: the auction closes tomorrow in the evening (local time), and the bidding has already reached €53,000.
