Meet Evomax Targa, a new Porsche 964 turbo restomod

The name of Singer Vehicle Design reigns supreme on the Porsche restomod scene, with finished cars often selling for several hundred thousand dollars or euros. However, competition has been growing tight for Singer lately with up-and-coming startups like Evomax around.

The German company specializes in building Porsche 964 Turbo restomods called Max11, Max11 Turbo and Max Classic. The latest addition to the catalog is named “Targa” in a self-explanatory fashion. The bodywork is all new and made from carbon fiber and Kevlar. Aside from being much lighter, it is claimed to provide additional safety in the event of a collision. The exhaust system is manufactured from titanium.

Powering the “balanced” Max11 model is a 3.8-liter naturally aspirated flat-six engine mated to the six-speed manual transmission of the 997-gen 911. Aside from churning out healthy 466 PS (460 hp / 343 kW), it spins up to 8,760 RPM. Suspension and brakes enjoy their share of upgrades to back up that power, of course.

Conservatively minded purists may opt for Max Classic and get a 993-gen engine rated at 335 PS (330 hp / 246 kW). It revs up to 6,500 RPM and links with a five-speed manual gearbox. Track day enthusiasts may prefer the Turbo version boosted to 629 PS (620 hp / 463 kW). As for the new Targa, it churns out 466 PS (450 hp / 336 kW) by default, but you can order it with the abovementioned Turbo engine as well.

Prices remain private, and as long as we understand correctly the tuner plans to build 99 units of each model.
