Video: Porsche 911 Hybrid storms the ‘Ring like it owns it

If you are worried about the performance of the upcoming Porsche 911 Hybrid, this video should put those worries to rest. The test vehicle sighted on the Nürburgring sure wasn’t holding back.

Yellow stickers on the windshield and the rear window confirm it is an electrified vehicle, even though it looks exactly like the standard Carrera. Round anti-fog lamps are the only unusual detail, but we don’t expect them to make it until production. The tailpipes at the rear are now grouped closer in the middle, and an active spoiler is still present.

In an earlier announcement, Porsche made it clear that the 911 Hybrid would focus on performance and not fuel efficiency. The hybrid add-on will not support charging, and the battery itself will be small to keep the weight consistent with the other 911s.

An all-electric 911 is also in development, but won’t be coming until 2030 or so, the company says.
