Canada-based tuning shop Mantis Autosport, formerly known as Mantis Racing, has introduced the world to another classy restomod project based on the Porsche 911 SC. The goal was to build a car that would be equally great for daily driving and track days.
Called the Cloud Outlaw, it is a rather extensive project with an interesting background. As far as we know, the customer who submitted the car for the makeover did not have any preferences or requirements besides “do what you feel is necessary”.
Thus was the unique 911 SC born with its 17-inch Fuchs-style wheel rims, slightly cut wheel arches, reinforced stock brakes and adjustable suspension compliant with RSR regulations. Track handling was improved with the addition of wishbones and struts.
The cabin was stripped to reduce weight, while the flat-six engine under the hood was bored out from 3.0 to 3.2 liters of displacement. This and a number of further mods more than doubled its output from the original 120 PS (118 hp / 88 kW) to 246 PS (243 hp / 181 kW).
Not half bad for an improvisation, right?
