Chevy-powered Porsche 911 restomod commands a $100k price tag

There is a rather unconventional Porsche 911 Targa restomod on sale in Oregon, USA right now. The car has 5,471 km (3,400 miles) under its belt and a Chevrolet V8 under the hood, and goes for $99,999.

It is a model year 1973 coupe that it owner decided to swap to a 5.7-liter Chevrolet engine. No details are provided regarding the engine, but we would imagine such a transplant requiring a fair bit of frame cutting and welding to get right.

The output is not specified, but the listing mentions aluminum cylinder heads, a polished aluminum intake manifold, a quad-barrel Holley carburetor, and a slew of other performance-friendly modifications. There is new suspension on the front axle, and a four-speed transmission from a Porsche 930 sends the power to the wheels.

The restomod rides on custom 17-inch wheels wrapped in Michelin Pilot SX rubber. If you squint, you will discern rotor brakes taken from a 1997 Porsche 911 Turbo. As far as the body kit is concerned, replaced parts include wheel arches, rear spoiler and front bumper.

Highlights inside include a white dashboard, leather-wrapped bucket seats, a Vintage Air climate system, and an integrated antiradar device – the owner must have indulged in a fair bit of radar dodging back in the time.
