California-based Russell Built Fabrication has unveiled an off-roader based on the Porsche 911 (964) chassis. The company had made a rally-ready buggy out of the 964 before, but that one was extreme in comparison and cost three times as much.
The newcomer wears a ‘light off-road’ package with flared fenders, Rotiform wheels shod in Toyo Open Country tires, underbody protection, modified brakes, and revised suspension.
The engine stays stock, but customers who need more power may request an optional 4.0-liter flat-six engine swap along with a new transmission, which will result in around 400 hp (406 hp / 300 kW) reaching the wheels.
Available extras include a roof rack, stainless steel bumpers, a roll cage, carbon-bodies auxiliary lights, and an air compressor.
The asking price is $135,000, around a third of what the rally car cost ($400,000).
