Check out a full-size wireframe replica of the Porsche 911

Benedict Radcliffe, a man famous for his wireframe sculptures, has reproduces the gorgeous Porsche 911 (934) in his latest work.

The work represents a detour from the usual business for Radcliffe, who usually made his sculptures as part of his actionist activities or upon request from individual customers, the 934 is a reminder about the ongoing collaboration between Porsche and suitcase maker Rimowa.

The vehicle is made from polished stainless steel pipes doing their best to imitate aluminum, which Rimowa uses for its travel cases. One of these is concealed within the structure itself, right where you would expect the front trunk to be.

It is not clear whether Radcliffe plans to create other such sculptures. For its own part, Rimowa will be producing 911 aluminum cases to celebrate the Porsche 911 (see video). Their design evokes associations with the iconic sports car, while the interior trim references the pattern found in the cabins of many Porsche classics.
