The 2023 Porsche 911 Carrera T is targeted towards customers who would like to enjoy sporty driving without going overboard on acceleration. The sales are kicking off next spring starting from U.S. $118,050.
The ‘T’ is for ‘Touring’, which means the car slots in between the standard Carrera and the high-end Carrera S. It gets its power from a 3.0-liter flat-six turbo rated at 385 PS (380 hp / 283 kW) and 449 Nm (331 lb-ft) of torque. The default transmission is seven-speed manual, but you can option the car with an 8-speed dual-clutch PDK box at no extra cost. Also included is a limited-slip differential with torque vectoring support – a standard feature of the Carrera S that’s not available at all for the entry-level Carrera.
With the stick shift, going 0-60 mph (0-97 km/h) is a matter of 4.3 seconds. The PDK drops the launch time down to 3.8 seconds. Regardless of the transmission type, the top speed always lies at 291 km/h (180 mph).
The 2023 Carrera T ships with the Sport Chrono package, sports suspension and exhaust system. To shave off another 45 kilos (100 pounds) of weight, the company reduces the amount of noise proofing, installs lighter windows and a smaller battery. The rearview mirror is missing from the base spec, but those who feel they need it may request it back at no extra fee.
