The one and only Porsche 911 Classic Club Coupe created by the Porsche Classic division with a 1999 911 Carrera for the starting point will be auctioned off at the 75th Anniversary Porsche auction set to commence in the United States in early June.
The custom sports car was a one-off designer’s fantasy inspired by the German automaker’s Sport Classic lineup. It was designed after the initiative of the Porsche Club of America, which sent a standard 911 (996) Carrera to Zuffenhausen, Germany for a round of factory-side tuning in early 2022. The club members wanted to see it turned into something like the 2010 911 Sport Classic model. The tuning division approached the task so responsibly, it actually produced a test mule that it tried out on a number of racetracks.
The main highlight of this unique build is its engine. It is a 3.6-liter flat-six mill similar to that of the 996.2-gen 911 GT3. Tuned to 386 PS (381 hp / 284 kW) and 385 Nm (284 lb-ft) of torque, it drives the wheels through a six-speed manual transmission. 911 GT3 components also find use in the suspension and the brakes.
Custom design elements, such as the easily recognizable 1972 911Carrera RS-style spoiler, highlight the classic looks. The rest of the body kit is stock, but there are Fuchs wheels and a bespoke top with a pair of aerodynamic humps.
The exterior wears a vintage Sport Grey coat. The cabin comes trimmed in leather, Alcantara and upholstery with a special ornament, while the infotainment system is represented by a modern unit designed by Porsche specifically for retro car restoration projects.
