Microsoft, a long-standing partner of Porsche in the video game industry, decided to celebrate the German carmaker’s 75th anniversary with a limited edition of its Xbox Series X gaming console. Only 75 units will be released, each wrapped like a racecar, but you will have to draw a lottery ticket for a chance of ownership.
The Porsche Anniversary Edition pays homage to a number of sports car prototypes of the past era. Some of the highlights include the Porsche 917LH ‘Hippy Car’ of the year 1970, the 917/20 ‘Pink Pig’ that came out in 1971, the 911 GT1 Mobil 1 that saw the daylight in 1998, and the new 963 racer that competed in the Le Mans race this weekend. A quick glance at the lineup also reveals the iconic Martini livery that Porsche put on its Le-Mans-winning cars of 1971, 1976 and 1977.
The lottery will continue until October 1. The names of the winners will be picked at random on October 3. Only residents of the United States, United Kingdom or Germany who are above 18 years old are admitted.
