The previously announced Porsche 911 GTS Le Mans Centenaire Edition has now officially been introduced in France. It celebrates both 100 years of the Le Mans endurance race and 72 years of Porsche’s continuous participation in it, and costs a cool €237,819.
The car has styling cues that make it look like the 1951 Porsche 356 SL. It comes finished in an original shade called Le Mans Silver, said to have been inspired by the color of the Le Mans winner from 72 years ago. The number 46 at both sides is another homage to the 356 SL.
Certain other design choices, like the golden wheels and the red safety belts, represent a nod to the 911 GT1 model that won the Circuit de la Sarthe race of 1998.
The interior is black with the embossed image of the Le Mans track on the middle armrest and a commemorative plaque. All 72 units will be sold exclusively in France.
