YouTube channel AutoTopNL has posted some exclusive test footage featuring a rally-focused Porsche 911 Dakar in an environment you wouldn’t typically see it: on an unrestricted German speedway. The car proceeded to surpass everyone’s expectations.
As you may remember, this 911 spec has a 2.0-liter flat-six engine driving all four wheels with 480 PS (473 hp / 353 kW) through an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission. The suffix ‘Dakar’ means upgraded/lifted suspension, off-road tires, flared fenders and other modifications for serious off-roading.
The specification claims the car tops out at 240 km/h (149 mph), but the German automaker must have allowed or a little error margin, because the example in the video easily hit 244 km/h (151.6 mph).
