Check out a Porsche 911 Safari cut corners at the North Loop

Sport Auto has posted a new video on YouTube featuring the host of the channel trying his very best to improve his Nürburgring lap time. He even cut some cornets – not something you would want to risk doing on the Green Hell track, but the Porsche 911 proved up to the task.

The track was closed for the other vehicles for the duration of the race. In the end, the driver was able to finish the lap in 7 minutes 39.4 seconds. Several months ago, he had better luck with a 911 GT3 RS, completing the lap in 6:59.4.

Granted, the rally-focused 911 is the slowest in the family, but it has the advantage of being able to traverse routes other 911s will never dare to tread.

There is a very interesting moment towards the end of the race that highlights another advantage of the Safari build. We won’t spoil for you, so you can just see it with your own eyes.
