Tuners invite Porsche 911 and Cayman R owners to a rally in the Arctic

Kalmar Automotive and its travel division, Beyond Adventure, have announced a rally tour program that will take its participants beyond the Arctic Circle. All drivers will be given custom Porsche 911 and Cayman R vehicles to drive on the WRC tracks near Rovaniemi, Finland, in January 2024.

In the meantime, all applicants can choose the car to drive. There are air-cooled Porsche 911 964 and 993 on the list, as well as the more up-to-date water-cooled 996 generation and a Cayman R. All vehicles have been upgraded for now and ice driving, their weight reduced for performance, and their suspension tweaked to comply with the WRC standards. The same regulations affected the choice of wheels, seats, safety belts, the safety cage and the underbody protection.

There are three programs to participate in. One of them, Arctic Control, is targeting aspiring amateurs and includes ice driving lessons from the famous Marcus Grönholm. Another one, Arctic Race, will let advanced drivers show off their skills in challenging races. Finally, Arctic Team will let the participants choose their own program on a day-to-day basis.

The prices aren’t public, but Kalmar is already taking applications.
