The renowned Porsche tuner and restorer says that, contrary to the popular trends of today, it intends to equip all cars it produces exclusively with manual gearboxes.
According to CarBuzz, the company argues that an automatic Porsche steals the real driving enjoyment from sports car owners. As such, all new restomods made by Gunther Werks will have three pedals instead of two.
In its usual routine, the tuner rebuilds flat-six engines and simultaneously replaces stock transmissions with Getrag six-speed manual gearboxes. These benefit from revised gear ratios, a lightweight flywheel and an aftermarket clutch. CNC-machined aluminum gear levers are also used in every project. Most cars from Gunther Werks do not have much to offer in terms of stability control electronics, though.
