In early 2022, Singer Vehicle Design teased an upcoming small batch of Porsche 930 restomods based on a new chassis, body and turbo powertrain. The development has taken its time, but earlier this week, the first car has been spotted on the Nürburgring.
Before we take a look, it’s worth pointing out that few small companies ever dare to take their cars to the North Loop for testing. The track is long and dangerous, and for Singer to be testing its car on it can only mean one thing: the company wants to make double sure that the tuning kit it designed performs as expected even under the most extreme conditions.
Back to the photos, the car pictured here wears carbon-fiber bodywork on top of a 964-generation chassis. It packs a 3.8-liter Mezger flat-six engine outfitted with dual 911 (992) turbos. Black air intakes in the rear quarter-panels, a large ducktail spoiler and a mildly modernized front end make it look tasteful and unique. The lighting is LED-based all around, and Fuchs wheels fill out the arches as well as you’d expect them to.
Only 70 such vehicles are scheduled for production. The engine output lies close to 456 PS (450 hp / 335 kW), a sizable boost over the stock 330 PS (325 hp / 243 kW).
