The Porsche 911 gurus from Theon Design have once again produced a great-looking 964 restomod that weighs under a metric ton (2,200 lbs), but slams the wheels with 507 PS (500 hp / 373 kW).
To achieve this impressive power-to-weight ratio, the entire bodywork had to be replaced with carbon-fiber panels. Theon boasts using the same highest-grade carbon fiber that Formula 1 racecars are made from. A completely bare interior also helps a lot, and so do magnesium/carbon wheels stylistically inspired by the 911 ST model from the distant 1970s.
A four-liter, air-cooled six-cylinder engine provides the power. Thanks to its low weight, the car reaches 96 km/h (60 mph) in three seconds flat.
The British company asks for eye-watering £790,000 for a restomod like this, which is roughly the same as U.S. $1,000,000. Even if you can spare that much, you’d better brace up for some waiting time, because orders usually take a year and a half to deliver.
