Porsche plans to complement its 911 car family with two hybrid modifications. None of these will have inferior performance compared to the current Turbo specification.
The lower-end vehicle will occupy the market niche above the base Porsche Carrera. It will get the same equipment as the Cayenne E-Hybrid. The latter features a traction battery hidden in the bottom of the trunk department and an electric motor located between the IC engine and the gearbox. According to media, Porsche engineers will prioritize raw performance over fuel efficiency in this model.
Prices are not discussed at the moment, but the company says the high-end hybrid model will be the most expensive vehicle in the entire lineup.
The current 911 lineup encompasses 24 models, including the hardcore GT, the “loaded” Turbo, a few AWD variants, a few vehicles with the Targa body type, and some basic Carrera models.
