It is common knowledge that car enthusiasts routinely visit coachbuilders and car design ateliers to make their rides look fresh, up-to-date or even futuristic. DP Motorsport has shown us that the opposite can be true, too, apparently.
The workshop received an order from an owner of a 1989 Porsche 911 Targa. He said that he ordered his car styled like Speedster in late 90’s, but what the tuning team came up with still looked too modern for his tastes. That is why he has waited another 20 years before entrusting the job to DP Motorsport.
Long story short, the guy was completely satisfied with the outcome this time around. His Porsche 911 Targa had to be retrofitted (no pun intended) with a low-mounted front bumper, new door sills and a Carrera body kit with prominent, bulging wheel arches. It also got a new exhaust system along with a rear bumper that would accommodate it.
The body of the Porsche 911 Targa received a grey paintjob with trademark DP Motorsport stripes running across it. The atelier has replaced the stock wheels with 16” matte black ones.
The story isn’t over, though. The engineers will be installing new suspension and an engine performance upgrade on the improvised old-timer later this year.
