A Porsche 935 homage edition made in 2019 is up for grabs right now with 49 km (30 miles) under its belt, the current top bid of €900,500 and a few days remaining on the auction clock.
The car was one out of just 77 such vehicles built (see video) to pay homage to the original 935 racecar from the past. Porsche based the replica on its 911 GT2 RS platform, but endowed it with a carbon-fiber body meticulously styled after the 1970s-era classic. With a bucket seat for the driver and a roll cage inside, it is track-ready.
Power comes from a 3.8-liter twin-turbocharged flat-six engine tuned to deliver 700 PS (690 hp . 515 kW) to the rear wheels through a seven-speed PDK transmission.
Along with the car, the winning bidder will be getting assorted spare parts, tools, racing equipment and a carbon-fiber wheel set.
Making this particular example especially valuable is its exterior. Carscoops believes many buyers of the special edition stuck with the original-matching retro paint coat, whereas the owner of this coupe opted for an exposed carbon look. As a result, some predict the final price could exceed €2,000,000.
