Check out a rare Porsche 935 with a naked carbon body

Bring a Trailer is selling one out of the 77 existing Porsche 935 racecars right now with the bidding at $1.6 million and counting. Unlike most of its peers, it flaunts expensive naked-carbon bodywork and has only 945 km (587 miles) on the odometer to show for being nearly six years old.

The Porsche 935 on sale was a continuation model produced in 2019, becoming number 13 in its batch of 77. The special edition paid homage to the classic 935 ‘Moby Dick’ racer with certain styling cues, like an elongated body shape.

Remove the mascara, and it’s a stock 911 GT2 RS model powered by a 3.8-liter flat engine boosted to 700 PS (690 hp / 515 kW). A seven-speed PDK transmission drives the rear wheels. Porsche shipped these in a variety of finishes to choose from, including multiple naked-carbon options. The example on sale is probably not unique but still extremely rare.

Once assembled, the car was sold to a dealership in Portugal. From there, it was exported to Canada with some assistance from the automaker’s U.S. department. Once in Canada, the Pfaff Motorsports team added it to its vehicle fleet and had it finished in its own colors. You can still see traces of the Pfaff livery on the exterior. Despite that, the car had only taken part in two official motorsports events before retiring.

The winning bidder will also be getting an OEM spare parts package worth $44,000 and two sets of racing wheels. When new, the coupe cost a staggering $1,048,080.
