Porsche 911 GT3 dons Le Mans winner livery again

Would you, by any chance, remember Paolo Barilla? Together with Klaus Ludwig and Louis Krages, he won the 1985 Le Mans race piloting a Porsche 956 (see video). For his 60th birthday, Barilla asked Porsche for a special 911 GT3 with a nostalgia-inducing livery.

Delivery took three long years, during which the driver cooperated with Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur to make sure every last bit was made to order exactly like he wanted.

The result is a striking yellow sports car with black and while accents, a rear wing and wheels finished in white at the front and gold in the back. Inside, the headrests bear the images of the track that Barilla made 374 laps on back in 1985.

Paolo Barilla has long abandoned his motorsports career and is currently the Vice Chairman of Barilla Group, a major pasta producer in Italy.
