Porsche 911 GT3 went faster with its stock engine

Manthey Racing has worked its tuning magic on the Porsche 911 GT3, optimizing its aerodynamic kit and suspension while keeping the engine stock. Motor Authority reports that the car was able to lap the Nürburgring in 6:55.7, 4.2 seconds faster than stock.

The body kit included special front fenders, a spoiler, a rear diffuser, and a carbon-fiber rear wing. Aerodynamic wheels help shave off 7 kilos (15 lbs) from the unspring mass, and drivers may take advantage of the weight savings to install more robust brakes.

The list proceeds to mention 4-way-adjustable suspension arms and revised springs that are 10% stiffer at the front axle and 7% softer in the back. The tuner claims this setup ensures optimal handling on the track.

The 911 GT3 still relies on its four-liter, naturally aspirated flat-six engine to propel it forward with 510 PS (503 hp / 375 kW) and 470 Nm (347 lb-ft) of torque. Sprinting from standstill to 100 km/h (62 mph) takes 3.4 seconds.

Manthey Racing will be offering the package through authorized Porsche dealership networks, which implies that the car likely retains the OEM warranty with all the mods. Prices start from €37,911 for the most basic upgrade kit, though.
