Spied: Porsche 911 GT3 facelift

The current generation of the Porsche 911 GT3 is rather young, having only premiered a year and a half ago. Nonetheless, the manufacturer believes the time is ripe for an update, as these spy shots from the Nürburgring suggest.

The prototype car lacks visible camo, but the rear bumper is obviously concealed behind fake bodywork. The rear diffuser also appears modified. The front end stays identical to that of the current 911 GT3 (see video) so far, but it doesn’t mean there will be no changes – in all likelihood, we will just have to wait for them to appear.

In its current implementation, the 4.0-liter naturally aspirated flat-six engine powering the sports car generates 510 PS (503 hp / 375 kW) and 470 Nm (347 lb-ft) of torque. The specifics aren’t available yet, but a slight boost is within reasonable expectation. The current transmission options boil down to seven-speed PDK and six-speed manual.
