The eighth generation of the Porsche 911 has been around for almost five years now, and this means that a new one should be coming soon. Despite the upcoming premiere, we still know precious little about the car, including the degree of its electrification. Another question is whether there will be a 992 Speedster while the current generation is still relevant. According to Car Magazine, the answer is a ‘yes’.
Unofficial sources claim that the new Porsche Speedster may debut later this year at an auto show in the United States. It may look barely different from the previous model (shown below), but benefit from a power-assisted top.
As for the powertrain, it will most likely be represented by the same 4.0-liter flat-six engine that powers the latest 911 GT3.
