Porsche 911 GT3 gets refreshed heading into 2025

Porsche keeps gradually updating its 911 lineup. Having refreshed the Carrera and GTS this spring, it has now unveiled the hardcore GT3 spec.

Compared to the pre-facelift version dating back to February 2021, this one features an exterior more in line with the company’s other recent models, especially when you notice the new bumpers and body kit. It also gets carbon-backed, heated power seats with detachable headrests for driving in a helmet. The digital dashboard boasts a new UI, and the engine start lever is still there – not replaced with a button, like in the latest Carrera.

The four-liter flat-six engine stays largely the same, but Euro 6e regulations make it slightly less torquey. Two added soot particle filters and quad catalysts reduce the peak torque from 470 to 450 Nm (from 347 to 332 lb-ft) while keeping the power at 510 PS (503 hp / 375 kW). Porsche also points out camshafts borrowed from the latest 911 GT3 RS, a revised intake system, and better oil coolers.

Like before, buyers are free to choose between six-speed manual and seven-speed PDK for the transmission. The drive stays on the rear wheels as usual, but the main gear ratio is 8% shorter in the new version. The new GT3 needs 3.9 seconds for the launch with the manual and 3.4 seconds with the PDK, so basically the same as before the facelift.

Due to the slight weight increase compared to the old version, the new sports car maxes out at 313 km/h (194.5 mph) with the stick shift and 311 km/h (193 mph) with the PDK. That’s 7 kilometers per hour (4.3 mph) less than before.

Ordering will become available in late 2024, Porsche says.
