An auction will be held in the USA in January dedicated to this low-mileage Porsche 918 Spyder. The hybrid supercar is expected to bring home $1.2–$1.4 million.
The owner of the car with the chassis number 465 out of 918 bought it new in the United States for $958,500. They specified it to be finished in Liquid Metal Chrome Blue ($53,000), an automatic front lift for mounting speed bumps ($10,500), and an extended carbon fiber styling package including contrast-rich interior stitching ($26,000). The vehicle proceeded to change hands once, but made fewer than 2,250 km (1,400 miles) since 2015.
The 918 Spyder was made in 2013-2015, while pre-orders closed in late 2014. Back in its time, it set a Nürburgring lap record by completing the 20.6-kilometer long run in 6:57. It thus became the first road-legal production car in history to finish the entire North Loop in less than seven minutes. Of course, the record has since been beaten multiple times.
Power for the hybrid exotic comes from a 4.6-liter V8 and dual electric motors jointly rated at 887 PS (875 hp / 652 kW) and 1,280 Nm (944 lb-ft) of torque. Sprinting to 100 km/h (62 mph) succeeds in 2.6 seconds, to 200 km/h (124 mph) in 7.2 and to 300 km/h (186 mph) in 19.9 seconds. The acceleration ceiling resides as high up as 345 km/h (214 mph). A 6.8-kWh traction battery provides up to 19 kilometers (12 miles) of purely electric range when needed.
