The British subdivision of Porsche has confirmed the engine properties of the all-electric Taycan sport car. As it turns out, the car will be getting two motors with 600 hp (450 kW) total output and will be able to accelerate 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in 3.5 seconds.
This puts the new Porsche Taycan on the same performance level as the renowned Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat Redeye (808 hp / 603 kW), Mercedes-AMG E 63 S (612 hp / 456 kW), and BMW M5 (600 hp / 447 kW). All three reach 100 km/h (62 mph) in exactly 3.4 seconds.
The vehicle will be able to accelerate to a maximum of 250 km/h (155 mph) and travel up to 500 km (310 mi) on a single charge. Charging will only take 15 minutes using a high-power station.
The original Porsche Taycan Concept debuted three years ago. First mass-produced cars will roll into showrooms in 2020 or later.
