Any love for a Porsche 944 S six-wheel truck?

Many Porsche fans will agree that the model number 944 marked the time when the German automaker seriously dropped the ball (watch the video to understand why). But, as hated and criticized as that generation was, we doubt Porsche expected anyone to despise the 944 enough to mold it into pickup truck shape. With three axles, no less!

The eccentric Frankencar is on sale in Germany right now for an eye-watering price of €175,000. The seller argues that it is in great condition with 1,200 km (745 miles) of use and fully maintained. Furthermore, the work allegedly took 2,500 hours to finish, and while the project started in 1995, it wasn’t completed until 2021.

On the outside, the oddity rocks an S2 front end, 924 Carrera GT headlamps and a vivid orange livery with some black graphics on top. The arches are occupied by six 17-inch BBS wheels that formerly belonged to a couple of 993 Turbos. The bed is over two meters (6.5 feet) long and lined with oakwood. The tailgate flips open and can be detached completely; the same applies to the roof hatch.

Power is provided by a 3.0-liter naturally aspirated four-cylinder engine installed in a transaxle fashion. It comes from a Porsche 968 and reportedly makes 240 PS (237 hp / 177 kW) – roughly 10 percent more than the stock 944 engine pumped out. A five-speed manual transmission drives both rear axles.
