Luxury car maker Porsche has officially introduced Project Gold, a restomod racecar based on the Porsche 911 gen. 993 chassis. The company spent a year and a half on the project, ending up with a pure racecar that is illegal to drive on public roads.
True to its name, the vehicle sports gold-colored livery, wheels and interior.
The engineer team had to design several parts of the car from scratch, notably including the air-cooled engine, some suspension components, and the AWD. The new engine is coupled with a manual transmission and delivers 450 hp (336 kW), while its historical counterpart that came with the Porsche 911 gen. 993 had 408 hp (304 kW).
The unique sport car will be sold at an auction in October 2018.
