A 1:5 scale model of the Porsche 956/962 racecar, which the company had used for drag testing purposes, will cross the auction block in May estimated at €6,000–€9,000.
The Porsche 956 and its successor, the model 962 featured in the attached video, were considered among the world’s most successful endurance racecars of the era. In 1982–1994, they had scored as many as seven Le Mans victories, to say nothing about other prestigious championships.
The replica is 103 cm (~40 inches) long and 40 cm (~16 inches) wide. It sports a neutral grey finish and rides on actual wheels. There are no doors, glass windows, sponsor stickers and other small details except for Porsche logos.
It is unknown what specific tests the mock-up took part in. What we do know is that the company made a total of five such models.
