The Porsche 356 Speedster came out in 1954 and immediately became a fashion statement in the United States, where its slanted windshield, elegant bucket seats and fine handmade details garnered much praise from critics. Even in Europe, you would be challenged to find a copy priced under €300,000 these days, but Iconic Autobody has an alternative to suggest.
The tuner asks €80,000 for a finely crafted replica of the iconic Speedster based on the modern Porsche Boxster. The body proportions and outlines are true to the original, but otherwise the car strives to be an homage to the vintage soft-top, rather than a full imitation.
The project, which goes by the name of Iconic Autobody 387 Speedster, features uniquely designed 19-inch wheels, powerful LED headlights, and a power-assisted soft top. The cabin evokes even more nostalgia with its light brown leather and fabric upholstery.
The company also processes individual orders starting from €75,000 plus the cost of the Porsche Boxster.
