UK-based driving school Trackdays Ltd. has announced a new form of entertainment for wannabe racing stars. The announcement on the official website promises an adrenaline-fueled race with you impersonating the criminal, all GTA-like.
The company claims everything is arranged in a safe and legal fashion using rental cars. Your destination is Bovington Airfield, Hertfordshire, England. You pick your ride between a Mazda MX-5 (£138) and a Porsche Boxster (£198), get acquainted with the track, and signal for a specially trained team on a Dodge Charger V8 (shown in the video) to begin the chase.
Collisions are neither welcome nor covered by any kind of warranty, so you have to show quite a bit of skill unless you don’t mind paying damages. The school claims a detailed briefing takes place before every race, but we were unable to find a mention of what the procedure is for the “detention”.
According to Trackdays, speed means little in such a race, and comes a distant second to your driving skills, understanding of the car chosen, reaction speed, and ability to surprise through improvisation.
