A Porsche Boxster converted into a lightweight and powerful track weapon is up for grabs in Europe for an asking price of €149,000. It needs 9.8 seconds to go 0-200 km/h (0-124 mph) and does not hit its speed ceiling until 325 km/h (202 mph).
The vehicle features a modest-sized visor instead of the windshield and side windows, with a roll bar behind the front seats and an impressively sized air intake in the back, like on some Formula racers.
The bodywork is now largely Kevlar and carbon-based, resulting in a curb weight as low as 980 kilograms (2,160 pounds), down from 1,250 kilos (2,755 lbs). Further modifications include new body kit parts and a towering GT3-style rear wing.
Brakes all around use AP Racing and Brembo components. 18-inch FISKE wheels use centerlock mounts and benefit from Bosch ABS. Nothing remotely stock can be found in the interior.
A 3.6-liter flat-six engine with dual turbos and a custom cooling system produces 625 PS (616 hp / 460 kW) and 750 Nm (553 lb-ft) of torque.
The first generation of the Boxster was made in 1996–2004. The seller does not mention when the conversion was carried out, but claims the car has only 2,000 km (1,240 miles) under its belt.
