Porsche 718 says goodbye to Europe

Porsche has officially announced the impending removal of its mid-engined 718 Boxster and Cayman models from the European market.

Same as the Macan before them, the cars are being pulled from sale due to their outdated hardware no longer complying with the latest EU cybersecurity standards. Porsche says it will continue to make both cars for exports until mid-2025, when they will retire for good.

The good news for all Boxster and Cayman enthusiasts is that the replacements are already underway to the market. Both are all-electric sports cars that the company describes as “real fun”.
