Porsche keeps spawning infinite 911 modifications, and customers seem to be buying them all depending on their preferences. The latest update of the Carrera GTS slated for 2022 launch in North America serves the same goal.
The GTS specification slots in between the Carrera S and the Turbo. It commands a 3.0-liter inline-six engine rated at 478 PS (471 hp / 352 kW) and 569 Nm (420 lb-ft) of torque – 30 PS (30 hp / 23 kW) more than the Carrera S and 23 PS (23 hp / 17 kW) more than the old-gen 911 GTS. An eight-speed dual-clutch transmission (PDK) sends the momentum to the wheels, but you can go seven-speed manual if you prefer that one.
Porsche will offer its Carrera GTS in both RWD and AWD variants, as well as in coupe and convertible body styles. The A/T coupe needs 3.1 seconds to reach 96 km/h, or 60 miles per hour. Prices in the USA will start from $136,000 for a coupe and $149,500 for a convertible.
On the outside, the 911 GTS boasts darkened or blacked-out exterior details courtesy of SportDesign package, alloy wheels, a new radiator grille, and special badges. Found inside are a sports steering wheel, bucket seats, carbon fiber inserts, and the latest-gen Porsche Communication Management infotainment.
Braking and suspension components have also been upgraded, and buyers can opt for a package that will shed 25 kg (53 lbs) off the curb weight of their Carrera.
