Swiss watchmaker Tag Heuer will be making a limited quantity of Carrera x Porsche RS 2.7 chronographs, dedicating them to the famous Porsche 911 Carrera RS 2.7 that came out half a century ago and was nicknamed ‘Ducktail’. One out of two designs has already been sold out.
A bit of history first, though. The sports car marked multiple milestones for Porsche, which introduced the names Carrera and RS (Rennsport, German for ‘racing sport’) in its production nomenclature. The technical specifications were so high, the Carrera RS was widely recognized as the fastest German car of the time.
Celebrating its 50th anniversary, the watches come in red and blue colors. The latter model has a stainless-steel casing, a face in white and blue, and a matching strap. It costs $7,750, but the entire batch has been sold out already.
The other model flaunts a rose-gold body and costs $23,550. It trades blue accents for red and comes with a leather wrist strap. This version will go on sale tomorrow, October 10, 2022.
