Porsche Carrera GT crops up on sale with a unique body finish

A 19-year-old Carrera GT supercar will go on sale in June at an auction dedicated to the 75 years of Porsche brand. With only around 3,600 kilometers (2,237 miles) on the odo and a unique Speedster Blue exterior, the car is poised to bring its seller $1.5–$1.8 million.

The color specified above was never available for the Carrera GT or any related vehicle from the factory. The current owner and seller of the car asked Porsche Classic for a respray in 2022 and picked the shade from the OEM palette. Speedster Blue was a color worn by the iconic 356 Speedster made way back in the mid-1950s. It had never made it to any other Porsche before. Recoloring the car, including the accents on the centerlock wheels, cost the owner a cool $75,000.

Only 1,270 Carrera GT models was produced in total, making them highly desirable on the resale market. Each came powered by a 5.7-liter ten-cylinder engine built based on a racecar engine. The mill produces 612 PS (603 hp / 450 kW) and links to a six-speed manual transmission with no further options. Going from zero to 100 km/h (62 mph) takes 3.7 seconds.
