One might think a luxury crossover like the Porsche Cayenne would never really want to stray from the smooth asphalt – but the first generation actually shows decent off-road capabilities.
This particular specimen belong to Shane Oosthuizen, who contracted German tuning shop Delta 4x4 to have it properly equipped for a journey from Austria to the South African Republic. Apparently, Oosthuizen’s job contract in Austria was running out, and he started dreaming about driving a Porsche Cayenne to his home in Cape Town, SAR.
The work took three years. The tuner fitted the CUV with a roof rack, a suspension lift kit, floodlights, a lockable trunk organizer, and a spare wheel housing.
According to Oosthuizen, the trip is going to take several months. On a related note, Porsche has actually released something similar a few times: watch the video for the unique Cayenne S Transsyberia it built for the Moscow – Ulan-Bator rally.
